We’re officially live in the Netherlands.
This marks an important step in InRange’s expansion across Europe, bringing our proven UK distributed energy model to one of the most dynamic, and constrained, power markets on the continent.
A portfolio approach with Intergamma
Our first Dutch projects are in partnership with Intergamma, the company behind leading DIY brands Gamma and Karwei.

Rather than treating each site as a standalone project, we’re deploying a portfolio strategy across multiple retail locations. This enables faster rollout, consistent design standards, and stronger economics across the estate.
Across the initial phase of 10 sites, we are deploying :
>2 MW of rooftop solar (PV)
~1.2 MW of battery storage (BESS)
Rollout continuing through 2026
This combination of solar and storage allows each site to maximize self-consumption, reduce energy costs, and unlock additional flexibility and savings through storage.
“Solar and battery storage are a key part of our sustainability story. As we continue to electrify our operations, including integration of EV chargers, InRange has given us a clear path to access clean, affordable, and optimized energy across our portfolio.”— Pim Pierrot, Director of Asset Management, Intergamma
Why the Netherlands needs solar + storage
The Netherlands presents a compelling opportunity, but also a unique challenge.
Grid congestion is now a defining feature of the market. In many regions, exporting electricity back to the grid is limited or unavailable. This changes the economics of solar and requires a more sophisticated approach.
Our model addresses this directly:
Battery storage co-located with solar to manage export constraints
On-site optimization to prioritize self-consumption
Flexible dispatch to respond to dynamic pricing and grid signals
In practice, this means we can continue to deploy meaningful amounts of solar capacity even in constrained areas, while maintaining strong project economics.

Extending the InRange model
Where grid conditions allow, we are also applying our broader InRange model in the Netherlands:
Up-sizing rooftop installations beyond on-site demand
Supplying excess energy to nearby large consumers
Linking distributed generation with high-demand loads such as data centres
This approach increases total solar deployment per site and improves overall system efficiency by matching local supply with local demand.
What comes next
The Intergamma rollout is just the beginning.
We are actively expanding our Dutch pipeline across retail, logistics, and industrial portfolios, bringing together solar, storage, and intelligent energy management into a single platform.
The goal is simple: unlock more rooftop solar, even in constrained grids, and deliver clean, affordable energy at scale.
Trots om hier te zijn. We’re proud to be building the next phase of distributed energy in the Netherlands.
